sound like great news, but the real question is, will it come to the "switch" too as vc titles. i think they just going to upscale the game to 1080p and remap the controls to work with the shield controller. hopefully nintendo and nvidia are partners for a long time to come. both company make great products.

Except, from reports, the Shield in China will be running Duer OS. https://twitter.com/Baidu_Inc/status/938026552607965184

I'm pretty interested in this as well. Will have to see if the hardware is any different, might have to do some work to add Lineage support if so. Not seeing anything to indicate that atm, however. That DuerOS reference almost looks like translation issues. A quick google seems to suggest that it just refers to the voice ai thing, ala google assistant, not an entire operating system. Getting the games to run on western models will be of great interest to me as well. Are all the mentioned games single player focused? No Smash or such? :(

It would be fantastic to see but I'll not be holding my breath for the games becoming available on a Euro Shield anytime soon (ever!).. & I'd be much less interested if they were only available via GeForce Now.

Official statement given to Engadget says the games are downloadable: "SHIELD owners in China will be able to download and play select Wii and Nintendo GameCube titles, with others coming soon – among them,Super Mario Galaxy" https://www.engadget.com/2017/12/05/nintendo-wii-gamecube-nvidia-shield-china/ AP is basing their reporting on the fact it doesn't say Android for the Wii games.

Or it's based on this: http://shield.nvidia.cn/games/geforce-now/new-super-mario-bros http://shield.nvidia.cn/games/geforce-now/legend-of-zelda-princess-at-dusk http://shield.nvidia.cn/games/geforce-now/fighthotfight Thanks to Kawshik Ahmed on G+ who found these.
That's exactly what I said. They're basing it on the fact that it doesn't say "Android" in that field, but says "GeForce Now". The Wii games weren't ported to Android. They were ported to the Nvidia Shield. They're under the GeForce Now branding. If you read the press report, it's pretty clear. Paladin 5 also was ported to the Shield. Check the same site and you'll see none of the Nintendo games, or Paladin 5 are listed as Streaming Games. https://www.nvidia.com/zh-cn/shield/games/#library

I would love to see some of these games come to the Shield either way. I am no coder but would imagine they are easier to port for GFN than to Android (perhaps somebody more informed than me could confirm or deny this hunch?). Zelda TP is a classic, I played on the Wii several times through and think it is better than Skyward Sword. Mario Galaxy would be great too.

If they're running via GeForce NOW, then they were not ported to the Nvidia Shield. They were ported (or at least are running via emulation, with updated assets) to the PC and are being streamed to the Shield.
