Could we have the [b][code]nv_spanmodepolicy=1 [/code][/b] added as a visual option in the GUI (ie Nvidia Driver manager) in the System Preferences panel or the or as an option in the drop-down menu from the topbar icon? This would be similar to how nvda_drv=1 is set

We shouldn't even need that boot parameter. AMD in macOS does MST 4K and 5K monitors without such a hack. It seems like someone was trying to add the feature, but was then told to stop but left that parameter as a workaround.
